San Sebastian: find out about the best times and areas for running

Zurich Insurance and RACC have carried out the study “Sports practice and air quality’’, highlighting that in San Sebastian the best timing to practice running is the late afternoon.

San Sebastian is an ideal town to run. Runners should not worry about the level of pollution. Luckily, in San Sebastian, running around town is a healthy activity. Although, depending on the time and areas, exposition to pollution can be reduced up to three times. It is one of the conclusions drawn from the study 'Sports practice and air quality' carried out by Zurich Insurance, official sponsor of the Zurich Donostia Marathon, and RACC.
According to the report, the benefits from the practice of sports in San Sebastian can far outweigh the possible negative impact of pollution. However, several tips are given so that this exposition is reduced as much as possible. Whenever possible, it is recommended to go running in the late afternoon.
Urumea ride and Ibaeta area are the best places to practice exercise. In both areas it is better to avoid running between 7:00 and 11:00 am. In fact, in the ride along the river the best time to run is between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Same times are advised for Ibaeta area, where it is also recommended to go running around noon. In Anoeta, the best time is between 12:00 and 14:00, and in Miraconcha, next to the beautiful beach of La Concha, the best time to go running is late afternoon.
Definitely, the report confirms that Donostia is the perfect town for running
